  • Why should I choose 'Seehotel am Hallstättersee’?

    Our hotel is perfectly located directly on the lakeshore, close to a public beach, cafes, restaurants, boats and ferries to Hallstatt.
    The train station is just 700 meters away. Whatever the season, you´ll enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, undisturbed by crowds, and just 10 minutes from historic center or ‘5 fingers’.

  • What is Check in Check Out Time?

    Our check-in is from 15.00 to 20.00.
    Self-check-out is before 10.30
    Please note that early check-in and late check-out are not available

  • What if I arrive earlier or later than Check in time?

    If you arrive before 15.00 or after 20:00 no worries.
    You can leave your luggage at reception anytime.
    Also, we leave room cards if you’re late. Please read the instructions attached to the envelope, it's important!

  • Is my ID required for check in?

    Yes, ID or photo of ID is required for check in.

  • Do you have a 24-hour front desk?

    No, our reception is open from 13:00 till 20:00. Also available at the breakfast restaurant from 7:30 till 9:30.

  • What time is breakfast?

    Breakfast is from 7:30 till 9:30.

  • What is the best way to get to your hotel by public transportation?

    Our train station is - Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Bahnhof (located only 7 minutes by walk from our hotel).

  • How do I get to the hotel by car?

    Please see our Maps – “Direction” page on Google.

  • How far is the Hallstatt from your hotel?

    Hallstatt is located about 10 minutes’ drive and approximately 50 minutes’ walk.

  • How can I get to Hallstatt without a car?

    You can get by bus, boat, ferry or taxi.
    Detailed information is available at the reception.
    Boats and ferries are not operating during winter.

  • What forms of payment are accepted to pay for extra services?

    Cash (€) and all major credit cards are accepted.

  • Can I pay for the room at the property?

    No, all payment should be debited 14 days before arrival.

  • Can I get a refund for my reservation if I cancel?

    No free cancellation 14 days before arrival.

  • Can I modify the dates/ room type/ number of the guests?

    Modifications are available more than 14 days before arrival.
    Less than 14 days before arrival modifications are prohibited.

  • What are the parking policies?

    Advance parking reservations are available only for direct bookings made through this website, at a special price of €10 per night.
    For reservations made through other booking platforms, parking can be reserved upon arrival, subject to availability, and price is 15/18 euros per night, depending on the season.
    Public parking is available; parking spaces cannot be reserved and the rate is €18 for 24 hours.

  • How can I get a parking spot?

    We have a Reserved Parking option for reservations made through this website. Exact parking spots are assigned for each guest after payment.
    Please add parking to your reservation on “STEP 2” while making a reservation. Price for parking will be added automatically.

  • Is there a bicycle storage room?

    We have a small room for bike storage. The availability of free spots there is determined at the time of your arrival.
    We do not offer any reservation option!

  • Can I charge my E-bike somewhere?

    Yes, our bike storage room is equipped with sockets and CCTV cameras.

  • Is it possible to add an extra bed to my room?

    No, extra beds are not permitted in the rooms., except for a baby crib for kids under 2 years old.

  • Can my child sleep in our bed without adding him to the reservation?

    No, all guests of any ages have to be added to the reservation.  Kids older than 2 years old are calculated like adults and need to have their own beds according to our hotel policies.
    Upon arrival of a different number of guests or kids of an age that does not correspond to the age specified in the reservation, the hotel reserves the right to not accommodate without refunding the cost of the reservation.  OR EXTRA CHARGES WILL BE APPLIED WITHOUT PROVIDING EXTRA SERVICES.

  • Can I have a baby crib installed in my room?

    Can I have a baby crib installed in my room? Yes, please request for the baby crib in advance. Price 10 euros/night for the infant adding automatically upon making a reservation. Or will be charged at the property if the infant wasn’t specified in the reservation.

  • Can we book a room with 2 twin beds rather than a single queen bed?

    You can book our budget room type “Twin room with view to courtyard” or “Modern Double or Twin Room” type with special request for Twin beds.

  • Can we use the extra bed in “Modern Double or Twin Room” if we booked a room for two people?

    No, an extra bed can be used only if your reservation is for 3 people. Extra charges will be applied if a number of the guests will more than enter the reservation.

  • Can I come to the hotel with a dog/cat?

    Pets are welcome in our main building at the cost of € 25.00. Pets are not allowed in our “Modern Double or Twin Rooms”!
    Payments shall be made only once and can with arrival locally be paid.

  • Can I come with 2 dogs?

    No, accommodation with 2 or more pets in one room is not possible!

  • Do the extra services provide for my pet?

    No, payment for the pets is debited for extra cleaning service and possible damages.

  • Can I take my pet with me to the breakfast restaurant if I have special needs?

    Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the restaurant without exceptions.

  • Are dogs allowed on the public beach near to the hotel?

    Unfortunately, no. But there is a dog bathing area near that called "Landbettler" between Hallstatt and Obertraun. This bathing area is equipped with a dog toilet and a public toilet.

  • Do you offer room service? What are the hours?

    Unfortunately, we don’t provide room service. But you are allowed to eat “Take Away” food from other restaurants.

  • Do you offer housekeeping service?

    Yes, daily housekeeping is available.

  • Do you have a kitchen or microwave to use?

    No, we don’t have a kitchen or microwave to use in our hotel.

  • Do you have gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan options for breakfast?

     Our hotel has a standard continental buffet breakfast.
    We don’t have gluten-free options.
    We have lactose-free and soy milk.
    Vegan options are very limited.

  • What in-room amenities do you provide?

    All rooms are equipped with a small refrigerator, HD/Cable TV, hairdryer and kettle.
    Towels and Shampoo-Body Wash are provided to use.
    Free tea/coffee set. Free Wi-Fi.

  • Do you have an elevator?

    Our main building has an elevator for luggage only.
    “Modern Double or Twin Rooms” are accessible only by stairs.

  • Do you have a pool/sauna/spa?

    Unfortunately, we don’t have pool/sauna/spa services.

  • Do you have a private beach?

    No, it’s a public beach and located only 1 walk minute from us.

  • Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?

    Our hotel is non-smoking. Smoking is allowed only on personal balconies.

  • Are there workers who help carry luggage to the room? Or to help elderly/wheelchair?

    Please note that luggage assistance is not available, and the hotel does not have a passenger elevator.
    Due to limited facilities, we may not be able to accommodate special accessibility needs.

  • I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?

    In this situation, you would have to contact the customer service department at the website you used to make your reservation.
